West Lothian Bespoke Media Wall
This bespoke media wall was designed and built as part of a living room renovation in West Lothian, creating a clean, integrated focal point that combines storage, display and media within a single, considered design. The aim was to maximise the use of the chimney breast and alcove space while achieving a balanced layout that felt natural within the room.
STEP 1
The Brief
The client was looking to transform their living space by introducing a bespoke media wall that would:
House a wall-mounted TV and soundbar
Incorporate an electric fireplace within the chimney breast
Provide practical storage within the alcoves
Include open shelving for display
Maintain a clean, modern finish
It was important that the overall design felt proportionate to the room and worked seamlessly with the existing features.
STEP 2
The Design & Build
The media wall was designed around the existing chimney breast, with alcove units either side to create a balanced and symmetrical layout.
Key elements included:
A central chimney breast section to house the fireplace and TV
Bespoke alcove units with integrated storage cupboards
Solid oak shelving for contrast and durability
Integrated LED lighting to highlight display areas
Provision for concealed cabling and soundbar integration
The majority of the build was carried out in our workshop in Callander, allowing us to achieve a high level of precision and finish before installation.
STEP 3 The Result
The finished bespoke media wall creates a clean and well-proportioned focal point within the living space, combining practical storage with a refined, high-quality finish. By carefully considering the layout, proportions and detailing, the design improves both the appearance of the room and how the space is used day to day.
